LIVE MUSIC, LOCAL CRAFTS, FRESH PRODUCE & FAMILY FUN @ SPRING FEST

Posted on Thursday 26 April 2007

The Mar Vista Farmers’ Market announces a Spring Festival as part of the countdown to Mar Vista’s 80th Anniversary scheduled for later in the summer.

On Sunday, May 20th, “Spring Fest” will replace Farmers’ Market hours 9:00am to 2:00 pm on Grand View Blvd. between Venice Blvd and Pacific Avenue. In addition to the great produce, foods, and flowers enjoyed weekly by local residents, Spring Fest will offer delicious prepared foods, antiques, plants, crafts, and children’s entertainment in what will be the biggest Mar Vista Farmers’ Market to date.

“This festival is so much more than an expanded weekly market,” explains Mar Vista’s Market Manager Diana Rodgers, “The day is to celebrate the diversity of the community within Mar Vista.

“Expect dancing, live music, food and fun.”

Music planned includes MILA Samba School—”The best Brazilian musical ensemble on the West Coast”— Indie rockers from Michigan, Population Game, as well as the local soulful songwriting of Mick Kelleher, and DJ Sets by Cannibal Flower’s own DJ Mr. Numberonederful and Ameet Mehta.
